VOTE TUESDAY NOVEMBER 4 After November 4, remember to RE-REGISTER with Carl Smith's Voter Registration Office before January 31, 1976. All dues received after November 1 will cover 1976. Please pay early, WOMEN IN PUBLIC LIFE A Conference on Women in Public Life will be held Monday and Tuesday, November 10-11 at the University of Texas LBJ Library in Austin. The first event will be a reception sponsored by TWPC to benefit the ERA, followed by films at the library on Sunday evening. (See the calendar of events, this issue, for details.) Monday features two panels; Tuesday, workshops. Keynotes, commentaries, and panels will feature many prominent women, including Martha Griffiths (US Representative), Hanna Gray (Provost of Yale University), Elizabeth Reid (Assistant to the Prime Minister of Australia), Li la Cockrell (Mayor of San Antonio), Ella Grasso (Governor of Connecticut), Dr. Lorene Rogers (President of University of Texas), Barbara Jordan (US Representative), and Gloria Steinem (Editor of Ms.). Dramatic presentations will be featured on Monday evening. The conference is open to all and free of charge. It is sponsored by the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs and the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library. The Monday panels will discuss women's problems world-wide and the media's view of the women's movement. |
