Transcript | NOW. Bay Area Chapter A NEWS National Organization for Women »Q« WOM8N Volume VI, Number 3 - March, 1978 WOMEN AT NASA Program/Business Meeting 7:30 P.M. Uniting Church, El Camino Real & Reseda UP, UP AND AWAY? Thursday, March 2, 1978 Clear Lake City Ruth Fruland, a geologist employed at the Johnson Space Center, will show the NASA film "Stepping Stones to the Future." The film examines engineering opportunities in space and is designed to encourage women and members of minority groups to seek employment in the space program. Group discussion will evaluate the film's effectiveness in recruiting women, and will consider the ideas of NOW members and guests on desirable content for a prospective NASA film on "Women in Space11. Ms. Fruland was recently selected to serve on the 10-member Federal Women's Program Committee working with FWP Coordinator Virginia Hughes on "matters pertaining to women's programs and objectives" at JSC. She welcomes insights and suggestions from NOW members to assist her efforts in this capacity. |
