Transcript TASK FORCE REPORT: WOKEN IN SPORTS Recently the WIS Task Farce has been discussing the issues which they will be facing as the shitwarkers of the 1975 national task farce on Women in Sports. The Title IX guidelines, which are expected to be released in January, are of prime importance and the ward from Washington is that the athletics section may prove to be totally unsatisfactory to feminists. The media coverage of women in sports is pathetic, and with the assistance of Betty Barnes and the national coordinator for the Image of Women Task Farce, we will be issuing media guidlines to assist national chapters in dealing with the media. Finally, Women in Sports will be focusing its attention on the United States Olympic Committee and its unequal treatment of female athletes. Ward is already in from the Aspen, Colorado task farce that they are preparing to file suit against the United States Ski Team, the training group far American olympians. Additionally, the Houston Task Farce will be coordinating reference material on women in sports which will be compiled by the national At-large Task Farce. And, Houston will be responsible far getting out a national newsletter twice a year. We will, of course, continue to provide the Houston chapter with excellent recreational programs to which they have become accustomed, and in that respect, anyone who is interested in basketball should contact Merryl Leatherman. Women in Sports will meet the last Thursday of each month at the Women's Center at 7:30 P.M. TASK FORCE REPORT J REPRODUCTION & ITS CONTROL FLASH.'.' The Bartlett Amendment to the $33 million Labar-HEW appropriations bill was DELETED by the Joint Conference Committee. This amendment would have prohibited abortion under Medicaid except when necessary to save the life of the mother. I lobbied against this amendment when Houston NOW sent me to Washington in October. Thanks, letter-writers. Thanks, God (She does provide.'). Nancy Kuykendall
