Transcript o. Registration Opens For '80 National NOW Conference It is not too soon for NOW members nationwide to make plans to go to San Antonio for the 1980 NOW National Conference. The 1980 Conference will concentrate on issues (elections Conferences are held in odd-numbered years), developing the policy that governs the organization and determining its direction for the next year. An innovative resolutions program for this year is designed to give the membership as much input as possible, while dealing with the resolutions as efficiently as possible and bringing to the florr for consideration a greater number than in previous years. An exciting range of workshops will again zero in on major issues, allowing for development of strategies, skill building, and considerations of new policy or issues. But while NOW Conferences involve the members intensively in the work of the organization, there is also opportunity for recreation. The Conference will provide entertainment for attendees, and San Antonio itself is a perfect setting for relaxation and sightseeing. The Conference site is located on the San Antonio River that winds through the city (and river taxis are available as well as conventional means of transportation). The river is flanked by the beautiful River Walk, which is lined with restaurants and shops. San Antonio also offers tourist attractions such as the Alamo and the historical Spanish missions. Now is the time to make arrange ments for the Conference. Early plan ning for travel and for registration can save money. Check into group travel, too, which can offer substantial savings. To register for the '80 National NOW Conference, fill out the registration form, clip and mail with your check or money order for the correct amount to the address on the form. Your registration form must be clearly printed or typed. Fees postmarked on or before October 3 are $25.00. Fees for registration postmarked after that date are $35.00. In order to assure that your registration is received and processed prior to the Conference, do not send registration forms and/or fees after September 19! Bring the form and money with you to the Conference. The National Credentials Committee will send delegate selection and verification information to every chapter in June. Check with your chapter about delegate selection or with your state coordinator if you are an at-large member.
