Transcript -2- NEW OFFICERS ELECTED SEPT. 19 A new slate of officers nominated themselves and were elected by the members present at our September business meeting. The indomitable Frances Hicks of Friendswood is our new President; Marjorie Randal of Clear Lake City remains as Vice President; Twiss Butler, literary genius of Nassau Bay, becomes our Documentarian; and experienced Linda Eichblatt of Clear Lake City has taken over as Treasurer. New Task Force Chairpersons will be announced soon. A MESSAGE FROM OUR NEW PRESIDENT Forward into Feminism for 1975 •• We can be very proud of all our efforts since May of 1973 to erase sexist policies in society. Our Task Forces in Employment, Education, Alternatives for Young Women, Legislation, Women in Sports, Consciousness-Raising, and our individuals who have produced the newsletter, gained publicity for us, spoken to audiences in our behalf, and just plain members have all done amazing amounts of you-know-what work. The determination of feminists has been well demonstrated in the Bay Area. As your incoming President, I hope to coordinate all these activities of our Chapter in a smooth way, helping to enable all of you to participate in making CHANGE happen in your areas of interest. Get involved with your CWN Task Force, and see things happen before your very eyes, as I haveJ Itfe astonishing to see the results obtained by banding together with other feminists for change. Call me at U82-78UO (any time but day hours, Tuesday and Thursday, when I'm at school) with ideas for achieving our goals. Frances NEW MEETING HOUR, SAME DAYS Our meeting hour has been changed to 8:00 P.M. to accommodate a Girl Scout Troop which needs the Church Facilities until that hour. (They will be leaving chairs set up for us. ) Program meetings will continue to be held on the first Thursday of each month, and Business meetings on the third Thursday. COME TO LINDA'S RAP SESSION - OCT. Hi Every month, at 7:30 P.M. on the second ftonday, we gather at Linda McCollum1 s house, 16019 Buccaneer in Clear Lake City, just to relax and talk and get to know each other socially. Please come; sometines the talk is light, sometimes we get into deep discussions. If you are interested in more formal C-R groups, beginning or advanced, come to Linda's and we'll talk about that. HELP WE NEED A "FUND RAISER" PERSON, someone who can think up ways for us to pad our our treasury. The first project suggested has been the ordering of feminist merchandise for local sale. If you are such a willing and ingenious person, please call Frances Hicks to volunteer.
