The Women's Resource Service at the University of Houston at Clear Lake City has begun accepting applications for a salaried part-time position (minimum of 20 hours per week) as Manager of the Service. The work schedule will be arranged to meet the Manager's personal and academic requirements. The position will open July 1, 1981, and terminate June 30, 1982. Applicants must be registered as a degree seeking graduate student at UH/CLC by the fall semester of 1981 and throughout the appointment. As its name Implies, Women's Resource Services provides multiple services to both the general public and the university community. It offers informal peer counseling, provides information concerning women's issues to individuals and groups, coordinates workshops and seminars to serve womenfs needs, and organizes the university's Women's Week program annually. The Manager has general administrative responsibility for the operation of the Service and coordinates the activities of its volunteers. The applicant should have organizational ability and should be personable and supportive toward those who seek help through the Service. It is desirable that the applicant have experience working with volunteer organizations concerned with women's issues. The Manager works with an Advisory Council, and as the office is part of the UH/CLC Counseling Center, reports to the Coordinator of Counseling and Psychological Services in the Student Services Division.
