How does a Lesbian owned and operated guest ranch 40 miles NW of San Antonio sound to you? This ranch has over 700 secluded acres up in the mountains of Edwards Plateau and includes a lake for swimming, canoeing and fishing. There will be horses to ride for Desert Hearts Cowgirls, as well as nature walks to observe the local flora and fauna (plenty of deer and birds). This is the perfect place for backpacking and there are also two caves to explore, one with 15 foot ceilings and living stalactites and stalagmites. At this time, there is no Lesbian vacation spot in Texas. It will take the support of many women to make this dream a reality. Leanne and Jeanne Beauxbeannes are the primary energy and vision behind Desert Hearts Cowgirl Club. Leanne and Jeanne own and operate a successful landscaping business in Bay City. Mary Helen Mertzbacher is working with Leanne and Jeanne to develop a comprehensive business plan. A 1985 graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelors in Business Administration, Accounting, she has experience with a CPA firm in partnership, individual and corporate tax accounting. Suzanne Anderson, realtor and owner of Suzanne Anderson Properties, is also lending her expertise. The guest ranch will be financed by future Cowgirls who can invest $1000 each towards 15 pre-paid vacation days at the Desert Hearts Cowgirl Club. Additionally, a structure for a limited partnership with partners investing $10,000 each is being researched.
