Transcript Good with Your Hancb? Tired of low pay in a dead-end job? Houston Community College is making a concerted effort to make training in skilled trades and crafts available for women. For openers, HCC is offering two mini-courses to introduce women to careers that have been traditionally "off-limits" to females. Part I is a seminar introduction, to be held March 3 and April 26, and possibly other dates. Part II will offer an actual experience in a field such as welding, auto body repair, auto mechanics, machine shop, or radio and television repair. Part II courses will run for four weekday afternoons, with the first series beginning March 21. Cost is $10. For more information call 524-3179, or write Community Service Program, Houston Community College System 2800 Main St., Suite 409 Houston, Texas 77002. On Saturday, March 19, the "Gay Woman's 1st annual Hikers Bikers Motorcyclers Drivers Picnic" will be held in an effort to meet new faces and have fun with lots of other women. Everyone is invited to come and participate in football, softball, volleyball or in just getting to know each other better. Pick your own form of transportation for the day: bicycle, motorcycle, car or your feet and meet in the parking lot across from Bavarian Gardens, 3926 Feagan, at 10:00 a.m. (Feagan crosses Heights Blvd. one block north of Memorial Drive about 4 miles from the park). For the late comer who is going directly to Memorial Park, look for us around the soccer field. Beer and cokes will be sold, but bring your own guitars, kazoos, and food. In case of rain we will hold the picnic the following Saturday on March 26. 'DoittWN
