Transcript FLOOD, FIRE AND RAIN Claudette brought flood damage to many of our members. Arson at A Uniting Church has us casting about for meeting places. Frederick's heavy rains on Wednesday, September 19 caused moru property damage, cancelled the BANOW business meeting and postponed the play Adam and Even. *****************RESCHEDULING OF ADAM AND EVEN!!!!! !**************************** On Tuesday, October 2, at 7:30 p.m., we will try again to present to you Adam and Even. Sponsored by A Uniting Church, the play will be presented by the Clear Creek Country Theatre for the Family Service Center's Plays for Living Division. Location will be: House of Prayer Lutheran Church 1515 Bay Area Blvd. The public is invited and Bay Area NOW has a special invitation (see September newsletter). Meatless potluck at 6:30, the play at 7:30 followed by a discussion. This play is an amusing satire, but makes a strong statement about sex role stereotyping and sex discrimination in employment. Hope to see everyone there. FUNDRAISER FOR ERA AND CHAPTER PROJECTS - BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE ~ NOVEMBER 15, 1979 Tickets and kits for ticket order takers are now ready. Calling friends and acquaintances about the play is an opportunity to do some consciousness raising about the Equal Rights Amendment and other chapter activities. The kits contain ERA facts, guidelines on taking orders, check sheet for contacts made and more. You and your phone round out the picture. Evie will exchange tickets for money by mall. Kits will be available at the October 3 program meeting or call Evie Whitsett at 488-1777. BONES From the Reston Branch, Va* AAUW Newsletter comes this gem. Someone once said that membership in every organization is Generally comprised of four kinds of bones: There are WISH bones who spend their lives wishing someone else would do the work. There are JAW bones who do all the talking, but very little else. There are KNUCKLE bones who knock everything that anyone tries to do. And, finally, there are BACK bones who get under the load and do the work. P.S. f,A good idea doesn't care who has it".
