Transcript COORDINATOR'S CORNER ELECTIONS! ELECTIONS! ELECTIONS! - The November program meeting will be Election Night (Nov. 5) • The proposed new officers need to see a show of your support to help them launch your Chapter into another successful year. The term of office starts in January, and this being the beginning of the last six months of the ERA ratification effort, your help and time are vital to the Chapter, to the Organization and to all women of this nation. Make a commitment to yourself and to the future generations to come that you will expend . as much time as you can plus as much as you can't spare to help. The major focus till June 30 will be the Message Brigade. If you haven't signed up yet, you can at any meeting. You can sign up your friends, neighbors, co-workers, strangers, anyone at any time you are with people. I have a large supply of Message Brigade envelopes that you can get from me at any time. What? You say you don't know about the Message Brigade, or you don't know the right techniques for asking people to sign up, or you don't know the best places to go to ask???? Funny you shou3,d mention it! I just happen to have the solution to those problems. Saturday, November 7 9 a,m.-Noon National Bank of Commerce Building 10th Floor Sharpstown Mail Yes, Virginia, it is a few miles from here, but let's carpool. I would like at least ten (10) of our members to attend and bring back the techniques learned to the rest of the Chapter. Elaine Kimzey, President of the Northwest Chapter, will do the training, having attended the MB Workshop in Washington at the National Conference. After about an hour of training, we will go right into the field for about lj hours, then come back for a brief wrap-up and comparing notes on our individual experiences*. It will be £w , informative, and-most of all, effective. Our national goal is 1,000,000 people signed up. That's 1 MILLION, folks! Think what could be accomplished if legislators in states about to vote on ratification of the ERA were deluged with pro-ERA letters in the amount of 1,000,000! We could finally get our ERA! And your effort will have helped. You will be a vital part of history. Back to the elections, we currently have a slate of self -nominees. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT NOMINATIONS HAVE BEEN CLOSED. Anyone who wishes may self-nominate at the November meeting before the program. If you do not wish to hold an elective office, there are ether jobs to be done: Task Force/Action Team leaders. Consciousness Raisdng, etc. The more you put into an organization, or any effort in life, the more you get out of it. The nominees so far are: President - Pat Kuhlmann; Vice President - Judy Snyder; Recording Secretary - Rema Lou Brown; Treasurer - Phyllis Tucker. In this issue, we are including a questionnaire for each of two categories of people, At Large members of National who have never participated in or known of the existence of the local chapter, and people who have signed up for the mailing list or are on our membership list but have never participated in local activities. PLEASE take just five (5) minutes right now and answer these questions. Your response is very important to us in planning future activities and projects that are effective, informative, and worthwhile. Don't forget to post the calendar page prominently so you won't miss anything! For Equality, The World According to the Gospel cf the Mew Right is the subject of BA NOW's Program Meeting at The Uniting Church (Reseda at £1 Camino Real in Clear Lake), Thursday, Nov. 5, 7:30 PM'. Rema Lou Brown, 488-1896, is tJhe November program facilitator.
