Transcript Dear Sisters, ~* !t seems one step forward, one step back. One day a victory, the next day a defeat. My optimism inflated - deflated. We won with the Little League and the reported change of attitude of L. L. Board Members heartens on. The Tower Amendment was deleted in Conference Committee. Louisianna and Illinois legislatures stalled (for this year) E.R.A. ratification. Marvin Zindler opened his program, Saturday Jun 29, with pictures of 8 week-old fetuses (I switched channels). Channel 8's superb Women's Programming. KPRC-TV's Memorandum of Agreement. HEW's Guidelines of Title IX with estiamtes of one year to go before implementation (that law was effective dated 1973). The elimination of jurisdiction of Sex Discrimination in Text Books. The Supreme Court's decision declining to grant disability insurance for pregnancy, reasoning to do so would raise costs and therefore burden the poor employees in California, ignoring poor employees are primarily women. A text book titled "Young Scientist: Observing Hi s World".(emphasis added).
