Transcript Page 6 BROADSIDE/HERIZONS August, 1981 ERA COUNTDOWN RALLY HELD JUNE 30th? All of the Houston Area NOW Chapters congregated in front of City Hall at noon to hear Congressman Mickey Leland and Debra Danburg speak on the ERA. Jan Stevens and Pat Kuhlmann also addressed the issue, making for a very enthusiastic rally. There was leafletting and petitioning throughout the area beforehand to inform the public on ERA and let them know of the rally at noon. Sandra Perdue, and the Kingwood Chapter, made and brought 7 green and white signs-"Ratify the ERA". Everything looked really good until the rain poured down slowing the rally to a close. However, despite the dampness, our spirits were high! THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED! (Pictures by Linda Bottoms-862-8339)
