Transcript LEGISLATIVE TASK FORCE REBORN. The Legislative/Political Task Farce is being revitalized. The primary purpose of this Task Farce is to act as an information source on legislative and political matters for the other task farces (as well as for NOW members in general). The Legislative Task Farce can help coordinate the legislative efforts of the different task farces to decrease duplication of effort and to share expertise which can be used to affect legislation and politics. The Task Farce should also help improve communication and coordination with the Harris County Women's Political Caucus. Areas where major efforts are needed in the next few months are ERA, abortion and rape bills in the Texas legislature, and gay legislation, especially on the national level. If you have any other ideas of areas this group should work on, or if you want to work on the Task Farce, there will be a meeting at 8 P.M. on Thursday, March 6th. If you can't attend, or want mare information, call chairperson Betty Barnes at 487-2489, In addition, if you have received any replies from legislators you've written about any women's issues, please send Betty Barnes a copy of the reply (or the original, if you wish). We need to create files of our legislators' attitudes on important issues. Mail to Betty Barnes at the Women's Center, 3602 Milam, Houston, Texas 77002. Betty Barnes AN AUSTINTATICUS EVENT IS NEAR.
