Transcript MEG CHRISTIAN Meg Christian is coming to town! If you're a woman and you like yourself, I think you'll like Meg. She successfully blends her considerable musical talents (voice, guitar, autoharp) with a strong commitment to singing music that speaks realistically to us as women about our lives—a combination all too rare. "She sings of women loving, leaving, and living with other women; of lovers, mothers and gym teachers, and of 'nightmares that mock our revolution'"(from a review in Pointblank Times last fall.) Best of all, she has a wonderful way with an audience, as I think those who were at the NOW National Conference in Philadelphia will attest. Meg will do a concert here in Houston on Thursday, May 13 at 8 PM at the First Unitarian Church, 5210 Fannin. The concert is sponsored by Pointblank Times and tickets are available in advance from PBT staffers. They're also available from Abraxas, "Just" Marion & Lynn's, University Boulevard Bookstore, the Lamp Post, Odd's Place, or Ursula's. To get tickets by mail, send $3 per ticket plus 25$ to PBT, PO Box 14643, Houston 77021, no later than May 7. Seating will be chairs or BYO cushions. Child care will be provided. As a bonus, Meg will conduct an informal workshop the day before her concert. She is eager to meet with Houston feminists who are active politically and or musically. The workshop will be Wednesday, May 12 at 7:30 PM at Abraxas, 1200 W. Alabama. Pokey Anderson MEN'S LIVES A film called "Men's Lives" will be shown at 8 PM on May 10 at the Women's Center. This film won an academy award in 1974 and is a marvelous series of interviews with men and boys on their lives as males. The 45-minute film will be followed by a discussion. We especially hope men will take this opportunity to see this film on men's consciousness. Ron Cox NATIONAL NOW If you have a question about National NOW, remember that you can call FREE. The number is 1-800-424-9538. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Glenda McKinney, on May 27! Nancy Kuykendall
