Transcript point of view The next issue of the BROADSIDE will be skimpy because I will be on vacation. I have not had a vacation in four years. I have been working full time, going to school four nights a week, studying on weekends, and putting this newsletter together in my spare time (3-5 AM). As a result of all this activity I am beset with double vision, bursitis of the right shoulder, tension headaches, lower back pain, and premature senility. I had a choice of either taking an honesf-to-god vacation or checking into the hospital. I opted for the vacation. A friend and I have rented a cabin in the Hill Country the last week in May where we plan to hide out. Now this is not your usual campout. You know how I am about roughing it. This cabin is air-conditioned, has a fireplace, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a screened-in sleeping porch. It is about 20 yards from a crystal- clear creek. There is no room service, however. Too bad. At any rate, I plan to sleep late, lie under the air conditioner and read books for pleasure rather than for school, eat myself smooth, and run up and down the road at night looking for trouble. My friend plans to rise early, take 7 AM dips in the creek, hike all over the hills, and conduct "tick checks" at regular intervals. Some compromise may be required. I'll let you know how it turns out. BULLETIN - Apr.28 U.S.Senate refused Helms amendment to Constitution (to bar abortion for any reason). Thanks, Sen. Bayh & other good people. broadside 1: a sheet of paper printed on one or both sides and folded 2: any strong or comprehensive attack, as by criticism 3: the simultaneous discharge of all the guns on one side of a ship Copyright Houston Area NOW 1976
