Here are their statements: Jeanne Necaise, Candidate for President An active feminist for several years, I am completely devoted to NOW. I have coordinated the Reproduction &its Control Task Force for the past year. I wish to work for increased influence of the organization and for fulfillment of the members. I would like to see NOW as the voice for women in the community. If elected, I will concentrate on involving everyone in the growth of NOW. PEGGY HALL, Candidate for President I am one of the 10 charter members of the Houston Area NOW and have been part of the feminist movement in Houston as it has struggled over the yea years to take root and grow. I in tend to continue working for feminism in the future. I am deeply concerned with involving our new members in the chapter as quickly and as deeply as possible. I hope that we can be more open to the ideas and concern of new members as well as those of the old members. I am currently a part-time graduate student and will be for some time. I will not be working full- time for the rest of 19 73 and will have time to fulfill the duties of Presi dent. HARLA KAPLAN, Candidate for Vice President As a 24-hour-a-day feminist, I am totally committed to the Women's movement. Currently, I am serving on four task forces - -Fund Raising, Politics & Lobbying, Reproduction & Its Control, and FCC. I am also a member of a C-R Group. |
