Transcript NEXT PUBLICATION The next issue will appear in mid to late December with news from State Council and perhaps some info on what to expect during the legislative session. Tentative deadline for articles and ads: December 10. If you send a favorite cartoon, remember to identify the source and send a clear copy. Space is limited, so try to restrict your articles to 1% pages double-spaced (about one column on a newsletter page). CONSCIOUSNESS-RAISING Word from chair Sue Devaney of the newly appointed state Consciousness-Raising Advisory Committee is that there will be a training session for CR facilitators in January. Stay tuned for more information! REGIONAL TRAINING CONfERENCE The day after the closing of the Texas Democratic Convention in Dallas, the South Central Region of NOW held an internal leadership training conference in the same city. Outgoing Rational Secretary Sandy Roth spoke about mem- ership processing, which was a prime concern among attendees. Former Texas State Coordinator Lynn Muchler spoke about bylaws and parliamentary procedure. The attendees themselves provided valuable tips to each other. It was a roomful of experience: regional board members, state coordinators/presidents, chapter and state officers...present and past. The next such event will be Nov. 6 in Denver. This may not arrive early enough for you to attend, but Texas NOW Times will try to obtain a report for those who are interested. A WOMAN-OWNED BUSINESS M. Sugulas p.o. The hospitality suite was quite well attended by several candidates we support and many Democrats who wanted to see us in action. Nearly everything we wanted placed in the platform was included with no floor fight; the reading of the women's issues planks met loud applause on the convention floor. Views and opinions expressed in the Texas NOW Times axe those of the individual authors and do not necessarily express those of any NOW chapter, Texas NOW or National NOW.
