Transcript task force reports MASCULINE MYSTIQUE TASK FORCE I am in contact with the Men's Awareness Network and have some interesting newsletters from other groups involved with men's awareness. Give me a call or come to the task force meetings in December if you'd like to discuss this. Ron Cox and I made a very enjoyable presentation on the masculine mystique at the University of St. Thomas on Thursday, November 18. Ron was involved in a Men's Center in New Jersey and has some quite interesting ideas about men's liberation and consciousness raising. Karen DeCrow, president of National NOW, eradicated the National Masculine Mystique Task Force several months ago. Petitions were circulated at the National Conference in Philadelphia demanding the reinstatement of this task force. If you would like to see this task force continued at the national level, write to DeCrow at 116 Benedict Avenue, Syracuse, New York 13210. Our December task force meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 9, at the Women's Center at 7:30 PM. In addition, formation meetings for new consciousness raising groups will be held on Thursday, December 4 (for men's CR groups) and Thursday, December 11 (for mixed CR groups). Both at 7:30 PM at the Women's Center. Craig Roberts Editor's note: A "mixed" CR group is a group composed of men and women. SEXUALITY & LESBIANISM TASK FORCE Philadelphia, October 1975. The NOW National Conference passed its third resolution supporting lesbian rights, and for the first time the support included a heavy financial commitment. In 1971 in Los Angeles, a resolution first confirmed the link between women's rights and lesbian rights. The press was poised to play up a huge floor fight, but the fight never materialized. In 1973 at the Washington, DC conference, a second resolution was passed, this one more detailed, supporting specific rights of lesbians in housing, employment, child custody, etc.
