Transcript JERUSALEM. 35 It must not be supposed that this is the best shoemaker's shop to be found in the city. There is one not far off where rows of large red boots, the pride of the Bedouin chieftain, and red slippers and shoes of all sizes, may be found, and another in which may be purchased delicately made Damascus socks of yellow kid, like boots, to be worn by ladies under their yellow shoes. It is one of the greatest delights of a peasant to put on a pair of new shoes, and ENTRANCE TO THE HOSPICE OF ST. JOHN AND MINARET OF OMAR. A muezzin in the balcony chanting the call to prayer. Peasants loading a camel in the foreground, and a townswoman wearing a white izzar and dark veil in the distance.
