Description | Pay certificate for Juan N. Seguín in the amount of $100 on partly printed form. Seguín was political chief of San Antonio in 1834. Though a Mexican official, he joined the Texas side of the revolution and recruited his own Mexican Company. His volunteers joined Stephen F. Austin near San Antonio in October of 1835. He was with Bowie at the Battle of Concepcion and was active in the first seige of Bexar. His detachment joined Houston before the Battle of San Jacinto, where his company played an important part. |
