Transcript the land and saying in loud and perceptible voices that by virtue of the Commission and of the authority which we have and in the name of the Government of the Mexican Nation, we place him in possession of the Land with all its acc$sti\tmbed uses, rights, and water rights, for him , his inheritors and successors. The aforementioned Locky Self truly and personally finds himself in possession of the said land without contradiction, some ten times [?] pulled weeds, threw stones , planted cuttings, and did the other necessary ceremonies , ending up instructed in the obligations that the Law presecribes, that he must cultivate within a lapse of two years. So that it may be reigstered, we the aforementioned Comissioner Baron de Bastrop) Empersario Stephen F. Austin, and attending witness, lacking a notary, under the terms of the law which we honor sign — In Villa de San Felpie de Austin on the twenty-second day of the month of July of the year eighteen hundred twenty- four — The Baron de Bastrop — Stephen F. Austin — Attending - John Austin — Attending - Samuel M. Williams -- The Baron de Bastrop Commissioned by the Government as the Sixth Member of the [•■••] of the Province of Texas and the Empresario Stephen F. Austin, Principle judge of the new settlement of the Brazos and Colorado Rivers, Lieutenant Coronel, and Militia Commander. We certify that the preceding writing is taken literally from the original and exists in the archives for the Colonization ttK&EX mh of said Settlement under the command of the aformentioned Austin and that it was found faithful and correct in the precfcenfte of and with the asssistence of witnesses Guillermo Vettus, Seth Ingnam, and Juan McFarlow and so that it may be registered, we sign it with attending witnesses, lacking a notary , under the terms of the law which we honor.
