Transcript the authority granted to both as a result of the one [decree] by the Superior Mexican Government dated the 18 of February, conffmJmed by the decrees of the Sovereign Consitutional Congress and of the Superior Executive Power dated the 11 and the ik of April of the year 1823 and of the one by the Comander ■Genual of these Provinces Brigadier Don Felipe de la Garza issued the 19 of June of the Year referred to in the action promoted by the said Empresario Don Stephen F. Austin about the emmigration of three hundred foreign families that should colonize this Province. Utilizing the authority that is granted by the Commission and decrees and considering the merit and circumstances that concur in the person of representative Locky Self according to the / [. . . ] **d xkh above report, we have come to/grant to him through this document and we [. . .] and we grant in the name of the government of the Mexican Nation to said Locky Self, to his inheritors and successors a sitio of land situated in the said Colonial Settlement without a proportion of irrigated land and only with the use of permanent waterv of which we will put him in possession turning over to him the (corresponding title for the later certification that he has satisfied the rights noted by the [. . .] circulated by the Politiccal Head of the Province of Texas the 20 of may of this year and so that it may be registered we witnesses of [. . . ] in the [. . .] day, month and year of that given above, sign — The Baron de Bastrop — Stephen F. Austin — Attending - Joh n Austin — Attending - Samuel M. Williams — ^/ The Commisioner Baron de Bastrop and Empresario Stephen F. Austin, the witnesses Thomas Alley, Abraham Alley, James McWain, the adjacent property owners the Surveyor Rawson Alley and the interested party Locky Self establish the aforementioned sitio of land that by the preceding act we have granted to the latter. It is situated on the western edge of the Colorado River more or less four leagues below the Atascosito Road and know/yas fckK sitio No. k below the Road and from the lower corner of sitio No. 3, belonging to Nathaniel Whiting and Nathn Osborn, the surveyor began and from there measured five thousand one hundred varas [.Qk meter = 1 vara]to the South 65 degrees west where a rod was planted and from there to the South 25 degrees East six thousand varas where another rod was planted on the boundary of Sitio No. 5 aHfefxam t^EXExtoxfekExMaxkkx6^x(iEgxKESxEa^xfsiisKXisgxkkK to the said Colorado River and from there following the turns of the River upward to where the first line began.
