Burman (or Burnhson), Jesse, 1792-1883• one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred colonists, who established a trading post known as Burnam's Crossing near La Grange. Lacy, William Deraetris, 1808-18U8. came to Texas in 1831 and established a tanyard and saddle shop near the present site of Columbusj later served under Col. James Morgan and George Sutherland.
