The selection of the field and the pairings always generates a lot of debate, coast to coast, but that is an integral part of "March Madness." The fun of being a hoopaholic, after all, is having opinions. Who are the top five coaches in the nation? The most overrated five? What is the best league? Who are the best players under pressure? And so on, and so forth. Now, even as we speak, the nation once again is in the grip of "March Madness." The coaches and players are pumped up, the cheerleaders are prancing, the pep bands blaring. Wonderful, isn't it? As diffi cult as it may be to find anything rational or logical, rest assured that the early rounds will include some upsets, or near-upsets, of A final thought.
