McKay Victor L, Emanuel Emanuel & Ben Feltner Emanuel & John L, Rowlett Joe Farrell CLEARING HOUSE NOTES: Both Yellow and Black Rails were captured and photographed by NP April 25. Le Conte's Sparrow seen on April 25 was carefully studied while on the ground in full view; all diagnostic field marks were noted and compared with Peterson Guide, including white crown stripe and facial pattern, Dirk Hagemeyer looked for the disks on the Fulvous Trepducks, They were too far away, even with a scope I could not see them. Maybe none ofithem were marked, Mr, Emanuel reports t at the Swainson's Warbler appears to be the most abundant brreding warbler at Sheldon^ Black poll Warbler Mr. inanuel and John L„ Rowlett sighted 50 in Galveston on the 26th and 27th and quote "this was the most abundant warbler we saw, we found it in every clump of trees, as many as 20 at one grove on the west end of Galveston, this was doubtless a result of the extremely strong SE winds we had for days, over one haof of the warblers we saw during the two days were Blackpolls", From Mrt.-Emanuel: The April Spoonbill states incorrectly that I observed 4 Piping plover on March 15 in a plowed field near LaMaequo. The only Piping plover I saw were on the beach at Galveston, I..have never observed Piping plover in the Upper Gulf coast area
