THE OUTER CIRCLE - OCTOBER. 1983
The Outer Circle is like The Clearing House in purpose and
format, and covers bird sightings made in counties which
are near or adjacent to those UTC counties which are traditionally covered by The Clearing House. Payette County (FA)
has been added in this issue to the area of coverage. It is
just west of Colorado County, and has Monument Hill State Park
just outside of LaGrange and the Lower Colorado River Authority
Cooling Ponds (LCRA), near Payetteville, which are excellent
birding places. Access to LCRA is best obtained on the north
side of it on State Hwy. 159* There is no access from State
Hwy. 71, just south of it, except for land birding, since the
Ponds are enclosed and guarded by watchmen.
