Luckner and F.S. Peace CLEARING HOUSE CLEARING HOUSE October. 1991 Editors: Phyllis and Tony Frank A total of 202 species were reported in October. This report includes 19 species of raptors including a "probable" Rough-legged Hawk and 22 species of warblers. The presence or confirmed absence of patagial marks would have clarified the "ID." All in all it seemed a good month for warbler diversity, but numbers of hawks observed during migration seemed to be lower than previous years. Other notables for the month include Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, Trail's Flycatcher and a Bewick's Wren (located in Bellaire). Late Hooded Warblers were a highlight among the warblers. A early Bronzed Cowbird was reported for the month. As always, early reports will be appreciated, but they are due by December 3rd. As the Postal Service urges - mail early. The CH format remains the same this month. The listing uses the following format: bird name, early late dates, reports/total and summary by county or detailed listing. The format of the county stannary is as follows: county designation - number of reports/number of birds. The detailed listing format is as follows: county-(number of birds) day, observer code. Very rare birds are underlined. Birds with no previous record on date or vagrant status appear in bold. Please remember to submit notes on all those good birds. And with all the reminders completed - on to the birds.
