Continuing Education course at the Houston Arboretum: Birds In Our Lives,
Bill Mealy, Instructor. This Is a comprehensive course which focuses on
the fascinating history and literature of birds, birdwatchIng, man's relations with birds, and the ethics of conservation. Two field trips included.

over to picnic,area, turn left at concessions building. Bring your own

moon we should be able to see some migrants leaving the shore on their long

Fri. & Sat. Texas Fish-eating Bird Conference wllI be held at the Dallas Museum of
Oct. 28-29 Natural History. The conference will consist of technical papers, survey
reports and other Items. These conferences can be very interesting, especially to us on the coast. If you would like to attend, contact David
The August 27 bird walk at the Arboretum was a washout. Literallyl! As far from the
cars as we could be when the rain came, there was nothing to do but slip and drip
our way along the trail to headquarters. The birds were smart, they hid before the
