OG field trip to Attwater Prairie Chicken Refuge. Meet at 8:00 a.m. at
Stuckey's, 10 miles west of Sealy on IH 10. Bring lunch and insect repellent. We should see some Prairie Chickens (though not booming), early
wintering birds, and should be a good chance to study some early sparrows.

showing slides of a trip he took this year from the Grand Canyon to Yellowstone, covering six National Parks. There will be a run-down on Christmas Count plans as we 11.

Audubon field trip to West Harris County, led by Paul Jones. This is a

The program will be presented by Bruce Bowen, PhD In Stratigraphy, Iowa
State University. This will be a slide show entitled "Birds, Natives and
Animals", filmed in the East African Rift Valley of Northern Kenya. Dr.
Bowen spent 4 years In this locality working on his doctorate. Here he
helped build their camp and the.roads into it. Since there were few diversions during those 4 years, he became interested in watching the bird-
life, the native peoples and the animals. He photographed thorn while his
wife painted them. This program is a distillation of their observations.
