On this trip last year Hooded Mergansers and Cinnamon Teal were seen. The park is always good for hawks and flycatchers in the winter too. To get to the park, take U.S. 59 South from Houston. After crossing the Brazos River, exit Crabb River Road and follow signs to park (from Rte. 59, you will first be on FM 2759, then FM 762; if you reach the end of FM 762 at FM 1462, you have gone about 1 mile past the park). Bring lunch, water; be prepared to do a fair amount of walking. There is a $2 per car entrance fee for the park. November 25 Deadline for Spoonbill Sunday articles and announcements.
