This Joint venture of the OG and HAS welcomes all interested Individuals to attend their meetings and become Involved In their projects. Pelagic trip out of Galveston on the "New Buccaneer". This Is the first of proposed monthly trips instigated by the Bird Research Group. We know that fall seems to be a good time for pelagics In the Gulf, but much more information Is needed to establish just what can be found all during the year. The proposal is to alternate months between Galveston and Freeport. Colin Summerhayes Is coordinating this project, and will be setting the monthly date, and-arranging car pooling among those who wish +o go. Birders can go on the "New Buccaneer" for $20.00. THE SPOONBILL deadline for articles, announcements, etc. We would like to share any birding experiences you've had, especially your observations of nesting species....behavior of parents, perhaps the first launch into the wide world of a fledgling, something +ha+ struck your fancy....share with us! 0G regular meetings resume at Bayou Manor auditorium, 4141 So. Braeswood, ' at 7:30 p.m. Members of the fledgling Birding Research Group will detaiI some of their efforts and findings in banding, especially in water birds and shore birds, with slides taken on some of the spoil islands near Galveston where the average birder seldom gets to go.
