OG regular meeting at Bayou Manor auditorium, 7:30 p.m.

Nature Center will present the program.

OG Field Trip - Meet at White Memorial Park at 7:30 a.m.
and bring a sack lunch. Bob Behrstock will lead a
field trip to White Memorial Park, Anahuac, High Island,
Bolivar and West Galveston Island if time permits.
Meet at Hills on the seawall in Galveston for dinner.
ONC regular meeting at the Garden Center, 1900 Hermann
Drive at 7:30 p.m. Sara Emmott will give a talk about
ONC Field Trip sponsored by the Conservation Group.
Allen Mueller, u. S. Fish s wildlife Service, will
lead a field trip to Galveston. The "Ecology of
Galveston" is the subject of this field trip.
OG Field Trip - Tony Gallucci will lead the trip to
Lake Livingston starting at 8:00 a.m. Morning -
birding at the lake for shorebirds and eagles.
Lunch - bring a sack lunch or buy at a nearby place
Afternoon - woodland birding. Directions: Go north
on 1-45 to Huntsville, turn right (east) on U.S. 190.
Go 25 miles (about 30 minutes). As you approach the
lake and causeway, pull off to the right at the
state boat ramp. That's our meeting place at 8:00 a.m.

OG regular meeting. Nancy Newfield, a hummingbird
expert from New Orleans, will present the program.
MINUTES OF O.G. MEETING - AUGUST £, 1983
Don Richardson, OG chairman, opened the meeting and introduced himself.
He spoke of several problems concerning the SPOONBILL, and a meeting
in which these problems were discussed and ways to rectify them. Lee
Richardson and Connie Clark will be co-publishers.
The June-July issue of SPOONBILL will be ready by mid August. The
August-September issue will be mailed in September. Thereafter the
SPOONBILL will be sent out monthly. A roster with names of OG officers,
members, programs and field trips will be ready soon.
In the absence of Linda Walsh , treasurer, Don gave an approximate
report on the finances which are about $5500.00. There will be an
accurate report in September.
Don thanked the ONC and Peregrine Tours for loans to pay our bills.
These will be repaid. Thanks also to Joe Kennedy who accepted the
duty of Secretary; to Bart Tucker who volunteered for Resources Chairman;
to Maxine Davis who acted as secretary for the August 4th meeting;
to Peggy Milstead who has been acting as Resources person, and David
Dauphin who volunteered to be responsible for aluminum. Wanda Smith
volunteered to furnish transportation for boxes of check lists from
Mary Gillette's home to Don Richardson's home.
David Matson reported a successful Spring Round-Up trip on May 7, 1983.
David Dauphin is on the Chambers County Park Commission. He spoke of
planned expansion of White Memorial Park.
Bald eagles are nesting at Lake Charlotte.
Noel Pettingell said there would be a new edition of the A.O.U. checklist
