Pruess March 23, 1997 Falcon perched low in burned out baccharis area. Much larger than Kestrel or Merlin. Dark brown crown, brown area narrowed at nape. White stripes running from above eyes broaden and wrap around nape but do not meet. Dark brown plumage below and behind eye. Mustache extending below eyes and lower mandible. White throat and breast.
