Include the author's name, address and phone number. Meeting Minutes April 7,1997. Bob Ohmart called the meeting to order since Dan Coleman had to leave early. The nominations for officers were announced as printed in the March Spoonbill. Piggy Milsted moved that the slate of officers be elected by acclamation. Don Richardson seconded and the motion passed. A volunteer is needed to be a mid-week field trip coordinator. Mary Dodson reported that while trying to place the membership roster into a new computer program, the program became overloaded and some ofthe membership information was lost. Those members who did not turn in an application form with their membership check please check with Mary. Your information may have been lost. David Sarkozi came in late but was able to report that he has scheduled no field trips for April since most people will be spending April birding High Island. David Bradford announced a H. AS. tripto Anahuac to look for rails on April 26. David Merrick reported on the results of a hearing that was held before a federal judge: in February of 1998 there will be a 5 day hearing about the Lake Jackson golf course issue. Each party will have 2 V_ days to present their case. David requested that the club raise some money to support this issue. The speaker was introduced and gave a wonderful show of slides taken at many little known parks around the state of Texas. Respectfully submitted, Janet Rathjen, Secretary. MayFieWTrip May field trip will be May 17, 1997 to Bolivar Flats and High Island. Meet at the bollards at Bolivar Flats at 8:30. We will bird the flats for a couple of hours and should lots of shorebirds, gulls and Terns. Bring a scope if you have one. We'll break for lunch and regroup at High Island at 1 p.m. for some late migrants. Meet at the Bot Scout Woods sign in. Feel free to join us for either half. Leader to be announced.
