The redstart, (Setophaga. ruticilla), is no
less a fact in this world than man, (Homo
sapiens). It shares man's descent from
some fishlike creature, was perhaps'as long
in the making, and for all I know has equal
importance in the ranks of nature. If there
is a reason for man there is undoubtedly a
reason for the redstart. If man was east In

Alarmed by persistent reports of a* downward trend in the population ef Bald Eagles,
the national Audubon Society has launched a study aimed at determining the status of the
speeies. This project is designed to oover at least five years and to gather data from
all parts of North America-. The study will consist of two parts, first an inventory based
on the number of active nests located and second an investigation of various aspects of
eagle biology. Information Is urgently needed on thelooation of active eagle nests and:
