ONC Visitors^ Days a+ +he Sanctuary. Recently 40 people enjoyed beautiful Nov.17-18 weather on a Visitors' Days, with a number remaining overnight either one or both nights. Come enjoy the fall at the Sanctuary. Saturday HAS Beginning Birding Trip to Bear Creek Park. This is for you new bird- Nov. 18 ers who want to start from scratch! Under the tutelage of Fred Collins, you will have the opportunity to learn to identify some of our common birds. Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the entrance, near the ptcnlc area, under the big slIde. Sunday OG annual field trip to HL&P Cooling Ponds, led by David Dauphin. Meet Nov. 19 at 8:00 a.m. at Roadside park/rest area on 1—10 just east of San Jacinto River. Tuesday Nov. 21 Saturday Nov. 25 Fri.-Sat. Dec.1-2 Sunday Dec. 3 Wednesday Dec. 6 Thursday Dec. 7 Brazosport Birders' meeting, 7:30 p.m. at the Brazosport Center for the Arts & Sciences, 400 College Dr., Clute, Texas. Christmas Count preliminary scouting plans, and identification of problem species which may be found on the count, will be discussed. This is the beginning of the winter months, and this weekend would be a good opportunity to see how many wintering species of birds- you can find. We should find a goodly crop of sparrows on this trip. Sunday Freeport Christmas Count Scouting Day. Victor Emanuel, co-compiler, says: Dec. 10 "I'm delighted that Ted Eubanks has agreed to join me as a co-compiler of the Freeport count.
