Wednesday Bird Research Group meeting, 7:30 p.m. at ELMNS. Holly Hobart will present
March 19 a program "The Importance and Problems of Feeding; Behavior Studies of
Some Coastal Bird Species". Holly Is a graduate student at Texas A&M who
is studying the Roseate Spoonbill in Galveston Bay.
March 13 - 29: The Chickadee Introduces wildlife artist Linda M. Roach to the Houston area. Linda is exhibiting a collection of drawings and paintings of
birds at the Chickadee. The artist Is a native East Texas who has traveler
throughout the U.S. and Mexico. She brings to Houston an exhibit of
watercolor paintings from Hawks to Hummers. The show begins Thursday,
March 13, with the artist present until 9:00 p.m. It will run through
Saturday, March 29, with hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sat.
March 21 - 23 Visitors' Days at our Little Thicket Nature Sanctuary. You may camp
Friday and Saturday nights if you wish. Bring your own food and water.
Come seek sanctuary from our hectic urban life in our unique woodland
wonderland, for this is not just a sanctuary for the birds and beasts, but
for us_also. Come for a day, or +wo, or even three, and see what spring
Is bringing to our Sanctuary.

Wednesday Photography Group meeting, 7:30 p.m. at Bayou Manor auditorium, 4141 So,
April 2 Braeswood. Isle Royal, one of our smaller and lesser known National Parks
is the subject of the program
April 3 Clearing House deadline for March observations. (You don't have to wait
until the end of the month to mail in your records, do It each and every-
time you go out birding (in CH format, of course).

Thursday OG regular meeting, 7:30 p.m., Bayou Manor auditorium. Mike Noel, who has
April 3 recently returned after two years in Africa with the Peace Corps, will
present a program on the birds of Kenya. Be sure to bring your aluminum
to the meeting.
Tuesday ONC regular meeting, 7:30 p.m.. Garden Center In Hermann Park. Members
April 9 who are experts in various fields, will tell us about "Nature of the Sanctuary". Here is your chance to learn more about ferns, nesting birds,
mushrooms, and reptiles of our Sanctuary, with Mary Tigner, in her own
inimitable way, present to tell us what is going on in our woodlands.
Don't forget the Hawk Watch Weekends: March 22-23, and March 29-30.
Trips to plan for: Roger Tory Peterson and Peter Mat+hlessen will join Victor Eman-
uel, John Rowle+t, and Paul Sykes as co-leaders of a special Dry Tor+ugas trip
