Bradford The HAS and the OG team up for two, sure to be spectacular talks from one of North America's leading bird and wildlife photographers, Kevin Karlson. This noted author and wildlife photographer will give his first Houston area talk to the OG at its regular January meeting. A second talk about Alaska is set for the HAS meeting the following Wednesday. Kevin has been a wildlife photographer over 16 years, and active as a birder for 18 years. His travels to photograph birds take him from the Alaskan Arctic tundra to the rainforests of Central America. From Summer of 1991 through the end of 1995, Kevin worked as a wildlife biologist in Alaska. During this period he studied and photographed nesting birds of the Arctic tundra. His work is widely published. Recently, one of his photos graced the cover of "Wildbird" magazine. Kevin lives in Cape May County, New Jersey and is a member of the NT Bird Records Committee. The OG and HAS feel that Houston area birders will more fully appreciate Kevin's excellent photos and unique speaking by offering two distinct talks. The HAS talk is set for 7:30 pm, Wednesday January 8 at the Houston Zoo's Brown Auditorium.
