Pat Ridge. Clearing House Notes: Masked Duck: by Dirk Hagemeyer: Brazoria Refuge - Oetober 16th, I968. Two male and one female Masked Duoks were sighted on the Brazoria Refuge by R. J. Fleetwood, Manager of that Refuge. He saw them again at the same place on the morning of October 17th and returned that same day with a local newspaper photographer who took color and black and white pictures of these birds. Fleetwood saw all three ducks again on October 18th. This was the last time that the drakes were sighted. I looked for them on the 19th and again on the 20th of Oetober but could only find the female. She was, on both days, in the same location as seen previously. But she was no longer there on October 27th. Must have left the refuge during the latter part of the week October 20-26th, I968. Anahuac Refuge -
