Transcript n Volume XXV, No. I May, 1976 PUBLISHED BY THE ORNITHOLOGY GROUP, OUTDOOR NATURE CLUB, HOUSTON, TEXAS COMING EVENTS Sunday OG "June Meeting" picnic at the Little Thicket Sanctuary. For those who May 23 wish to camp Saturday night,'May 22, the Bristers will be there and have the gate unlocked shortly after noon on Saturday. If you can't camp, come early Sunday morning and enjoy wandering the trails before the meeting and lunch. Some members familiar with the Sanctuary, will be on hand to show newcomers around. The meeting will start shortly before noon and conclude after lunch, leaving several hours for afternoon exploration and enjoyment of the Sanctuary. This is a great opportunity for new members to get acquainted with us, and we urge all to come. We understand Mary Tigner has promised us a "tasting" party of "IIve-off-the-land" recipes! Bring lunch, water, insect repellant, and remember you must take away your refuse. Takes about 2 hours driving, go 1-45 to Willis, turn right onto FM 1097, then right again on FM 150, then right again on FM 945, go 2 miles to gate on left. We'll be looking for you! June There is no field trip scheduled as yet for the month of June. Aug. 4-14 Ben Feltner is leading a Merlin Birding Tour to Arizona...Mt. Lemon in Tucson, Madera Canyon, Patagonia, Ramsey Canyon, Chirlcahua Mountains.... All the exciting south-eastern Arizona specialties will be sought—Thick- billed Kingbird, Sulpher-belI led Flycatcher, Gray Hawk, Zone-tailed Hawk, Coppery-tailed Trogon, Five-striped Sparrow, Red-faced, Grace's, and Olive Warblers and as many as ten species of hummingbirds.
