I heard a bird sing in the dark of December. * * * * * * * * * * *********** Oliver Herford ******* * * * * PUBLISHED BY THE ORNITHOLOGY GROUP, OUTDOOR NATURE CLUB, HOUSTOK, TEXAS COMING EVENTS February 4 (Thursday) - Regular Ornithology Group meeting at the Downtown Recreation Center, 7:30 PM. The program will be "The Migration of Birds" by George Williams. February 9 (Tuesday) - Regular O.N.C. Meeting, Garden Center,1500 Hermann Drive at 8:00 PM. "Geology of the East Texas Big Thicket" by Dr.W. G. Hugly. February 16 (Tuesday) - Audubon Wildlife Film. "Gone With the Wilderness", Karl H. Maslowski, to be held at 8:00 PM in the auditorium of the Houston Home Builders Assocation, 2710 West Alabama. February 20 (Saturday) - Dr. Hardin Craig will lead the Ornithology Group Field Trip to Cinco Ranch and other points in Western Harris County. Meet at 9:30 AM at the crossroads in Clodine. For those who wish to join the field trip for the afternoon only, meet at the junction of raods 1093 and 1463 at 1:00 PM. March 27-28 (Saturday Clayton Gilman will lead the March Ornithology and Sunday) Group trip to George West. This is an excellent area for birding and we hope new members will make every effort to attend this week-end trip and we know old members always want to go back again and again. We will have more information on this trip in the next issue.
