Transcript The Spoonbill A Publication of the Ornithology Group Of the Houston Outdoor Nature Club August 2002 Vol. 51 No. 6 September Program For the Love of Birds Kevin Karlson, a wildlife photographer and birder, combines an environmental message with humor, serious natural history and stunning bird photography to reflect on the future of birds and birding. Kevin views our relationship with birds and examines the changes brought about by human/ bird interactions. He looks at the changing lifestyles of birders and me evolution of the sport. He will show photographs of scenery and birds from the most memorable birding hot-spots. As a wildlife photographer for magazines and projects including Wild Bird Magazine, the ABA's North American Birds and The Birds of North America CD-Rom, Kevin has traveled from the wilds of the Alaskan Arctic to the rainforests of South America to photograph birds. He has authored numerous articles on birds, from advice on good locations to insights on their natural history. Kevin spent the summers of 1992-95 working as a wildlife 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 9 Bayland Community Center 6400 Bissonnet Learning Corner: 6:30 p.m. Birding Basics David Bradford will begin a two-part program on the basic principles and techniques of birdwatching. Bring your binoculars and field guide.
