At no time did the predator break the surface of the water or in any way provide ax clue to its identification. Goslings at Seney National Wildlife Refuge in Michigan were often observed being dragged beneath the water by snapping turtles. Perhpas the bird at Galveston suffered the same fate.. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the parking lot in the shopping center at Sugarland - behind the Humble Station.. Habitat to be visited will include Lake Schamm and woods areas, so we should have both ducks and woods birds. First Audubon Screen Tours Kangaroo Continent, presented by Patricia Bailey Witherspoon, at the Lamar Senior High School at 8s00 p.m. If you haven't received year tickets, they may be obtained from Mrs. Jerry B. Strickling or Mrs. A. R.. Massingill. The Outdoor Nature Club will meet at 8:00 p.m. at the Garden Center. ®r» Clarenee Cottam,■Director of the Welder Refuge, will speak on "Foundation Management and the Conservation and Feeding of Wildlife." Mr. L. A, McWhirter will lead the Outdoor Nature Club overnight field trip to Garner State Park and Sabinal Canyon.. Allan D, Gruiokshank will present his color film, River of the Crying Bird as the second of our Audubon Screen Tours, again at Lamar Senior High School at 8sOG p.m.. Texas Ornithological Society will hold its annual Fall Field Trip at Del Rio. Details have not yet been announced but we shall try to have them by next issue.
