Transcript DDME FDR FAMILY LIVING SAM JOHNSON A modern beauty designed with an eye for children and incorporating many new features is the parade model at 8719 Pritchett. Built by Sam Johnson of the Sam Johnson Lumber and Building Company, it was designed by Brodnax & Sawyer. Drapes and carpets were provided by the Houston Carpet and Drapery Company. The exterior boasts a new type of material — Kalatex combed plywood. This is used as a buff colored trim for Bermuda pink Holiday stone. The living room, dining area and den flow together, separated only by a real burning copper head fireplace. The wall of this area is fixed plate glass overlooking the patio which is screened-in and spotted with plastic overhead. The living room also features a mural on one wall. The kitchen is off the den and is equipped with Westinghouse appliances in aqua green. They include electric oven and range, dishwasher, built-in refrigerator and deep freeze. The kitchen also has Youngstown copper cabinets. The bedroom wing is arranged especially for children with two of the bedrooms separated by a folding wall. With the wall open, the bedrooms become a large play area. The master bedroom is at the back and has a large picture window, a mural on one wall, and a master bath. The den is attractively paneled in walnut and has a cork floor. The home has beam ceilings throughout and is air conditioned with a Chrysler Airtemp unit. It is equipped with radio and inter-communication. It has a Thermo Roof of white marble. Builder Sam Johnson is a native of Houston and has built homes in West- wood, Spring Oaks, Long Points Woods, East End, Woodside and Sharps* town. Landscape Design by James E. O'Rourke SAM JOHNSON CONSTRUCTION CO., 9200 Old Katy Road, HO 5-2997 24
