Transcript | WELCOME! Houston's annual Parade of Homes has come to be a city-wide attraction of unusual significance. All of us are keenly interested in better homes and Houston has an enviable record of widespread home ownership. The annual Parade of Homes is a rich display of new and better products of all the varied industries that go into the making of good homes. Its presentation offers the public an unexcelled opportunity to see the progress that is being made by the housing industry. It also reminds us of the vital importance of home ownership in the American scheme of things. The right of the American to own his own home and to be free and secure in it is one of the most fundamental guarantees of our liberty. The breach of this right was one of the causes of the American Revolution. The preservation of it assures us the responsible citizenship so essential to the success of our republic and of our city and state government. The officers and Board of Directors of the Houston Home Builders Association most cordially invite you to the Parade of Homes and hope that you will favor us with a return trip. S. N.
