Transcript GUESTS OF HONOR KATHERINE KURTZ was awarded a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Miami and attended medical school for a year before deciding she would rather be a writer. She earned an M.A. in medieval English history from UCLA while creating her first two novels, "Deryni Rising" and "Deryni Checkmate." Katherine is also a professionally trained hypnotist and is currently a designer of instructional materials for the Los Angeles Police Academy. Despite a broken finger she has finally completed work on her sixth rr>vel, "Camber the Heretic" and it is now with the publisher and due out soon. Her other novels are "High Deryni, " "Camber of Culdi" and "Saint Camber." Katherine will be at the convention all three days and will read from her latest work and sign autographs. She'll also teach Scottish Country Dancing after the Costume Contest. ********** GREG AKERS is one of those rare birds who actially emerged from his shell in California—some thirty-three years ago. The University of Arizona sent hiip some tasty seeds and he flew over, eventually winging his way out of that school with two interests: Computer Programming & Science Fiction He's been trying to combine the two ever since! He first attended a fantasy convention in 1971 (Witchcraft & Sorcery #1) He's been hanging around our cons ever since and has written a report on all of them which we hope to publish. Knowing that we were never going to get rid of him we decided to make him our one and only Fan Guest of Hono Seriously, Greg, we hope you'll be around for the next one hundred years. On that date we will present you with the Convention. —B.C. * «
