The 13th Annual Fantasy Faire, Aug. 19-21,
offers you the opportunity to again meet with
all your friends and favorite oeople, .such- as
Lynn Barker Steve Barnes, Marion Zimmer
Bradley (whose book on the Arthurian Legend ,
"Mists of Avalon" is a current national best
seller); Chris Bunch. Bob Clampett,Alan Cole,
Dorothy Fontana, Stephen Goldin, Fred Harris,
Fritz Leiber, Karen Willson & Paul Edwin Zimmer.
We can now tell you that the Bob Clampett
Animation Award will go as a Tribute to Willis
O'Brien for his excellent pioneer work on two
early films, "The Lost World" (1925): written
by the creator of Sherlock Holmes, A. Conan
Doyle, and the 1934 production of "King Kong.
There will be film clips from "both these great
films. Mrs. O'Brien will be there in person to
accept the award.
Also since 1977 the Fritz Leiber Fantasy
Award (established to honor living fantasy
writers) has been presented at Fantasy Faire.
This year we are honored to have Fritz Leiber
himself award this testimony to one of the all-
time favorite fantasy authors*

The costume contest will be held Saturday,
August 20th, at 8 o.m. Entrants must be
registered in advance and all entrants must
be members of Fantasy Faire'83. The costume event registration table will be open
for sign-ups both Friday & Saturday. ALL
presentations will be limited to one and
bne-half minutes — longer acts should be
oart of the Cabaret on Friday night. The
Costume Committee reserves the right to
preview ALL oresentations involving stunts
etc. Trophies will be presented to costume
winners. Banned from Fantasy Faire are
all projectile type weapons, all realistic-
looking weaoons, all assassin-type games
and all running games.
On Friday evening at 8:30 there will be a
Cabaret/Talent Show. We are encouraging
all beings of the galaxy to participate:
comedians, dancers, filksingers, etc.
Posters, books, comics, magazines, art,
paperbacks, jewelry, stills, buttons,
costumes, computer/war games, and many
more items of interest to science fiction &
fantasy collectors will be available in the
Dealer Room. Room will be open Friday,
2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to
8 p.m, Sunday, 10a.m. to 5 n.m.
Price for renting a table is $60 and this
includes two dealer memberships. The
Special Advance charge ner table is $50
if paid before August 1,1983. Information
