Transcript 1956 EDITOR'S MAIL BASKET (Continued from page 54) the following: "Our people (the Czechs) bad the misfortune of being exposed to slavcrv twice within a decade: once at Munich, . . . the second time at Teheran in 1943 and Yalta in 1945 by . . . your President F. D. Hoosevelt." The Czech professors should blame their own political leaders before laying the responsibility at the door of the former President of the United States. Nothing has contributed so much to the ,ul vaneement of the imperialistic aims of Russians than the Czechoslovak politics. Masaryk and Benes were the first in Europe to make a military agreement with the Soviet in 1935, by which the Russians were granted ammunition depots in Slovakia and military air bases in Carpathorussia. . . . When Czechoslovakia was created after World War I bv the Peace Conference at Paris, the Western powers, misled bv false promises of Masaryk and Benes, donated, to the new state, territories and peoples without granting them the right of self-determination proclaimed in Wilson's fourteen points. . . . The Hungarians Mtached to Czechoslovakia against their will wen- treated as second-rate Citizens. . . . As a result of the Munich agreement 'he Hungarians <>l Czechoslovakia partly achieved the right of self-determination m 1938. . . . When the peace treaty after World War II restored the pre-Munich Borders of Czechoslovakia our unfortunate people were thrown to the unrestrained national rage of the Czechoslovak politicians. Under the protection of 'he Soviet, thev unscrupulously set about treating a real national Czechoslovakia ',v exterminating the nationalities. With Soviet inspiration thev masterminded the Kosice Program which was but a blueprint ol genocide against our people. . . . Some of those men who signed and executed the genodda] orders against our P*0ple are now the privileged propagandists of Radio Free Europe for the ■Ubjugated nations. By the Committee "' Free Europe thev are presented as Jjhampions of democracy and freedom to "lose people who cannot live long enough Jj> forget the suffering received from "leiii. Radio Free Europe will never be what ls intended, a propaganda means of free- "oin and powerful help to subjugated People, until it eeases to work with men ,v'io collaborated with the Communists F>d are contaminated with crimes against '"■- rights and freedom of others.
