Transcript Electrical Engineers Engineering NEEDS TUNED TO SPACE AGE Because of the closeness of electrical engineering to the ever expanding frontiers of science, the competent electrical engineer finds it necessary to continually supplement his academic education by exchange of ideas with his peers. The technical societies provide an excellent vehicle for this through publications and conferences. Awareness of this need develops long before graduation. The University of Houston Society of Electrical Engineers, by association with the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Radio Engineers, presents to the student a number of thought-provoking programs tuned to the needs of the space age. Highlights of the year's activities included the technical programs, paper contests, and a number of social activities, including an annual picnic and a spring banquet.
