Transcript Gamma Alpha Chi Communications GAX PROMOTES TRUTH, SERVICE To promote truth and service in advertising is the primary purpose of Gamma Alpha Chi. Founded at the University of Missouri in 1920, Gamma Alpha Chi is the only national advertising fraternity for women. Women students have contact with workers in the advertising field and gain undergraduate experience. Activities include co-sponsorship with ADS of the Advertising Week Banquet, the ADS-GAX regional meet and the Student Directory. Speakers are featured at the bimonthly meetings, and honorary members are initiated from the professional world. PLANNING THE ADVERTISING WEEK banquet are, seated: Cathy Mobley, secretary; Gayle Smiley, president; Joan Garrett, vice-president. Standing: Melinda McDaniel, Pam Lackner, Bari Bodden, Sabra Hall, Elizabeth Mays, Ainslie Bricker. Kappa Alpha Mu KAM TAKES PICTURES Almost every picture in the Cougar and the Houstonian is the work of a member of Kappa Alpha Mu, national co-educational photojournalism fraternity. KAM members also shoot pictures for campus organizations, providing a service to the organization and earning practical experience. KAM's aims are to promote scholarship, interest and ability among photojournalists and to bring student photographers and professionals together for a better understanding of the photography field.
